Samuri Golf: How to Play  entry form

  • Starting Bankroll


    Each entrant will begin the contest with a $1,000 fictional bankroll.
  • Evaluate the Odds and Markets


    The following markets will be used for this tournament. Once posted, the odds are set in stone and won't change.


    • First Round Leader
    • Tournament Winner
    • Top 5 (with ties)
    • Top 10 (with ties)
    • Top 20 (with ties)
  • Pick Your Golfers


    Select one golfer for each market. You may not select the same golfer more than once. For example, if you pick Scottie Scheffler as the Tournament Winner, he cannot be selected as your Top 5 golfer.
  • Allocate Your Bankroll


    Allocate your $1,000 bankroll among your 5 selections. You must allocate at least $150 and no more than $400 to any market. You must allocate all $1,000.


    Be strategic to try and maximize winnings. There is no bonus for winning a certain number of picks. For example, there is no bonus for going 5/5.
  • Submit Your Entry


    After you have selected a golfer for each market and have allocated your $1,000, you can submit your entry and are locked into the tournament.


  • Scoring


    Once the first golfer tees off on Thursday, the tournament (and fun) begins. At this point all entries will have a bankroll of $0.


    When one of your golfers enters a position in the standings that would pay-off for a given market, your bankroll increases by the amount of money you placed on that player multiplied by the golfer's odds, plus your initial stake ("winning amount").


    For example: if you allocate $200 on Rory McIlroy at +200 odds to finish Top 5, and he enters the Top 5 on the tournament's leaderboard, your bank is increased by $600. ($200 * 2 + the initial $200.) on the Samuri Leaderboard. On the flip side, if Rory should then fall out of the Top 5, your bank is decreased by $600.


    NOTE: your pay-off for correctly selecting the First Round Leader will be the winning amount divided by the number of First Round Leaders (dead heat rules). Top 5, Top 10, and Top 20 markets include ties and pay in full.

  • How You Win


    The winner of the tournament is the player who generates the highest total bankroll at the conclusion of the tournament. This is the sum of the results of your golfer selections in the 5 markets.


    The goal of the game is to maximize your ending bankroll. You do this by strategically picking golfers at certain odds, and allocating your fictional bankroll wisely.


    The top five finishers in this contest will be compensated.
  • Live Leaderboard


    Throughout the tournament, there will be a live leaderboard that tracks the progress of every entry.


    You will be able to see where you rank among every entry at all times. Additionally, you will be able to view every entrant's 5 selections, their budget allocation to each selection, and their maximum potential winnings. To see this information, simply click on an entry.


    The entry link will turn into the live leaderboard when the first golfer tees off on Thursday.
