Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 14, 2026
This policy explains what personal information Samuri, LLC collects when you use Samuri, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.
1. Who we are
Samuri is operated by Samuri, LLC (“Samuri”, “we”, “us”). We are the controller of the personal information described in this policy. You can reach us at nince@samuriapp.com or by mail at Charlotte, NC 28226, United States.
This policy covers the Samuri mobile app and the website at samuriapp.com. It does not cover YouTube, Google, or any other third-party service you connect to Samuri — those are governed by their own privacy policies.
2. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Account details. Your mobile number, and — depending on how you sign up — your email address and name. If you register with a password, we store only a hashed version of it and never the password itself.
- Date of birth and country. Samuri is for adults 18 and over. We collect your date of birth to enforce that age requirement and your country to determine contest eligibility.
- Profile information. Your username, display name, and anything optional you choose to add, such as a bio, a profile photo, or links to your other social accounts.
- Prize claim information. If you win a cash prize, we collect the information needed to pay you and to meet our tax and anti-fraud obligations. This can include a government-issued ID for identity and age verification, your legal name, your address, and a taxpayer identification number where the law requires one.
- Messages you send us. Support requests and anything else you write to us.
Information from connected accounts
- Google and YouTube. When you link your YouTube account, we receive your Google account identifier, basic profile information, and — with your permission — the ability to check whether you are subscribed to a specific channel. Creators additionally grant access needed to confirm that they own the channel they want to host contests on. We store the resulting access tokens encrypted.
Information generated by your use of Samuri
- Contest activity. The contests you enter, the answers you select, your scores, your rank, and the XP and level you accumulate.
- Wallet and transactions. Prize amounts credited to you, withdrawals you request, and the resulting records.
- Device and technical data. A device identifier recorded at signup, your push notification token if you enable notifications, IP address, app version, and diagnostic logs. We use the device identifier to detect people running multiple accounts to game contests.
3. How we use your information
- To create and operate your account and keep you signed in.
- To verify that the action a contest requires — such as subscribing to a channel — actually happened, so that entries are legitimate.
- To run contests: accepting entries, scoring answers, and ranking the leaderboard.
- To award and pay out prizes, including verifying your identity and age before a cash payout and meeting our tax reporting obligations.
- To send you service messages you would expect — a contest going live, a result, a prize you won — and, where you have not opted out, messages from creators whose contests you entered. You can turn these off at any time.
- To detect and prevent fraud, multi-accounting, abuse, and activity that breaks our Terms.
- To fix problems, monitor errors, and improve the product.
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our agreements.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own advertising.
4. YouTube API Services
Samuri uses YouTube API Services. By linking your YouTube account you also agree to the YouTube Terms of Service. Google’s handling of your information is described in the Google Privacy Policy. You can revoke Samuri’s access to your Google data at any time through Google’s security settings page, and you can disconnect the account from within Samuri.
5. Who we share information with
We share personal information only with the following categories of recipients:
- Service providers who run parts of the product for us: cloud hosting and databases, SMS verification, payment and payout processing, push notification and email delivery, and error monitoring. They may process your information only on our instructions.
- Creators whose contests you enter, in limited form: they can see the username, entry, and standing of people who entered their contest, and aggregate information about their audience. They do not receive your contact details, date of birth, or payout information.
- Other players, to the extent contest leaderboards and public profiles are visible in the app. Your play history and the creators you follow stay private unless you turn those on.
- Authorities and advisers, when we are legally required to disclose information, or where it is necessary to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.
- An acquirer, if we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets. We will tell you before your information becomes subject to a different policy.
6. How long we keep it
We keep your account information for as long as your account is open. When you delete your account, we remove or anonymize your personal information, except where we must keep it longer — for example, transaction and tax records we are legally required to retain, and a limited record needed to stop a banned account from immediately signing up again.
7. Security
Passwords are hashed, third-party access tokens are encrypted at rest, and traffic between the app and our servers is encrypted in transit. Access to production data is limited to people who need it. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we take this seriously and will notify you and the relevant regulators if a breach affects you and the law requires it.
8. Your rights and choices
- Access and portability. You can ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Correction. You can edit most of your profile in the app, and ask us to correct anything else.
- Deletion. You can delete your account from within the app, or ask us to delete it.
- Notifications. You can turn push and creator messages off in your notification settings, or at the operating system level.
- Connected accounts. You can disconnect YouTube at any time, in Samuri or through Google.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights — to object to or restrict certain processing, to withdraw consent, or to complain to your data protection authority. To exercise any of these, email nince@samuriapp.com. We will not treat you differently for making a request.
9. Children
Samuri is not for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
10. International transfers
We operate from the United States and our service providers may process information there and elsewhere. Where we transfer personal information out of your region, we rely on appropriate safeguards for that transfer.
11. Changes to this policy
We will update this policy as the product changes. When we make a material change, we will update the date at the top and, where appropriate, tell you in the app or by email.
